My story

So here I am, I am Laura. I am Belgian and I am 22 years old. I have a bachelor's degree (BAC+3) in Political Sciences and I am currently in a master's program. These studies made me realize that unfortunately, we live in a very individualistic society and that if we want to change things, it's up to us to do so.

The history of the NPO : Toi mon endo

C’est suite à tout cela que petit à petit je me suis dit “Mais Laura, on vit dans une société où les réseaux sociaux prennent une place non-négligeable dans le quotidien de beaucoup d’entres-nous, alors vas-y, fais-toi entendre”

so it is May 1, 2020 I took my phone, put it on my desk and sat down on my bed to tell you my story. This is the beginning of a new adventure. My first Youtube video was an unexpected success. I received a hundred messages in one evening, it was shared dozens of times, etc... Anyway, it's a short story, that's when I said to myself that I wanted to go further than that, that it was time to make a difference, to raise our voices and be heard for good.

And off we went for the adventure.

I contacted a draftswomanI explained my wish for my logo and a few days later I had my logo exactly as I imagined it. After that, it took me two/three months to do all the administrative side (and I might as well tell you that there is a lot of it) and... here we are...

The ASBL Toi mon endo was officially born on Thursday, July 16, 2020.

I'm so happy that this project is finally coming true and I'm so eager to live this adventure all together because "together we're stronger".

The 3 objectives of the NPO : "Toi, mon endo" :

01.

Education

As of 2021, we hope to teach teenagers from secondary 5 what endometriosis is. How do we do this? Through an educational and fun session supervised by a team of professionals and a gynecologist specialized in endometriosis.

02.

Awareness

In order to sensitize a wider public, we want to conduct information campaigns and create and/or participate in events.

03.

Accessibility

Because it is, for us, essential that every woman has access to therapies to improve her daily life, that is why we want to set up monthly workshops at a democratic price.

Our general coordinator

Wendy

It was at the end of September that I wanted to find the rare pearl that would help me make my endo shine. I thought a lot about it, I talked about it to my family and friends and then one morning I woke up and I said to myself; Wendy is the rare pearl for " Toi mon endo".
